It's Raining, It's Pouring...

the builders are snoring...

With all the rain, surprise surprise, but our slab is on hold again. The builders will be happy - they can have sleep ins every morning.

In effect - we have no new news to report this week.

Well, maybe...

We plan on going to Beacon Lighting tomorrow to buy a pendant light for our grand entry. I'm excited about that. It will be our one splurge with the lights.

OMG I'm mad about that too - how much was it?? I'm sure that's the reason I didn't buy it because it's absolutely gorgeous!!! You will see I bought a lot of lights from Beacon, I think all up over $2,000, but I had to keep spending less to avoid going too far over budget, this one must have been one of those "too far" ones! lol

Thanks Annie - yes, I seem to have expensive taste sometimes. We are having downlights throughout the house, so this will be the one and only feature light. It retails for $1395, but there is a sale on the moment, up to 50% off everything. So some kind of discount is desperately wanted. We fell in love with it the moment we saw it and now nothing else will do. Will use this years tax return to pay for it as I know we sure won't have any money left once the build actually takes place hehe..

hmmm $1,395 + 50% discount - still costs $700 - well, I think that's a lot, but if the only one, well worth it - GO FOR IT! (although people will see this one in the entry and think "wow if they have this light here, let's see the rest of the house" only to find it was the only one - it raises the bar a bit!! haha

We'll just have to not invite people to look at the rest of the house then hehe... 'Thanks for coming guys, welcome to our new house - now just wait here...'lol
